Segovia, Spain

We spent a wonderful Saturday in the town of Segovia which is about a hour from Madrid by bus. We woke up to a sunny, georgeous day. We were excited to see a little countryside of this country that we already love. WE LOVE MADRID!! The people are so friendly and I'm speaking more Spanish than I ever spoke Italian in Italy. Thanks to Jonathan's aunt, Pilar we have this wonderful opportunity. The second day in Madrid I got up early and headed off to a language school called Sprachcafe. I had contacted them earlier but i never heard from them so i really had no idea if there was a space for me in any class. I got to the school about five to nine and by nine I was in class learning Spanish. The best thing about getting into this class what meeting Nyra who you see below. A British, quasi American whose sister, Hooria and boyfriend (husband?) who you also see below live in Madrid. THANK YOU for all you have done for us. We all decided to go the beautiful town of Segovia. I had never heard of it before which is no surprise as I know so few towns in Spain. We met the gang at Principe Pio where we caught the bus. A perfect bus-and we got the front seats. We were surrounded by snow capped mountains. It was very beautiful. We could see Franco's huge memorial half way up one of the mountains. Hooria said he had prisoners build it for him before he died. Anyway, enjoy the pictures.
