British Embassy Choir performs to standing room only hall. The best orchestra we have performed with. It was an exhilarating performance.

I was thinking about what I was doing exactly one year ago and I thought of my old neighborhood of Piazza Santa Croce. I looked it up and came up with this amazing picture of Santa Croce in 1966 after the great flood which destroyed so many priceless pieces of art. The water was up to the feet of Dante, the statue you see in the middle. The statue is now to the left side of the church.

Today in my Senior 3 class we split into four groups. Each group represented a man who is dating Junko, a made up person. They each had their profile, good and bad things about themselves. Each group had to present arguements why they were the best man for Junko. They really got into it!! One student was quite upset that their group didn't win. I was very proud of them.

Bored on a Sunday...
I had fun playing with photoshop this afternoon. It's a very, very windy and rainy day here in Tokyo. The gusts are so strong that I keep going out to the porch to see if everything is standing up. I just made curry rice. Jonathan went out to get red wine.

Hang in there Farrah!!!

Our little paradise in Tokyo. Jonathan is correcting quizzes. He just came in and said they are doing really terribly. Does that reflect the talent of the teacher or... We finally got our huge plant into a pot. It used to be David's plant but the pot broke about 7 years ago. It has been without a home for that long! I decided to take a picture the day we transplanted it. As you can see it's not doing that well! Let's see it if it gets better or worse.

Tineke and Wietse, we have kidnapped your shampoo!!!

If you ever want to see your shampoo again you had better obey the following instructions:

1. Buy a ticket to Tokyo, Japan.

2. Come stay with your kidnappers in Tokyo for at least a week.

3. Enjoy wonderful food and a fantastic city.

Then and only then will your shampoo be returned to you!!!

You better obey or else.....

YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR SHAMPOO AGAIN!!!!!!

The Junior 2s had a field trip to Ueno Park today. My groups went to a very crowded Louvre exhibit. It was so crowded that you could hardly see the paintings. My poor students were a little frustrated as they had to find their favortie painting and write about it. There was no space to just stand and write. Oh well. Very few complained and they just have fun with their friends. In the afternoon we went to Ueno Zoo. I hadn't been there for at least 18 years. It was greatly improved since then. Here are some pictures from our day.
